Emilie Ruecker Wildlife Refuge is a 50 acre preserve with over 1.5 miles of easy-to-walk, well-marked trails. The refuge has shaded areas for watching and photographing nature. There are beautiful views of the Sakonnet River, salt marshes, woods and a pond. The refuge is home to a wide variety of birds including egrets, great blue herons and glossy ibis. The Sakonnet River is also a breeding ground to the Ospreys.
