Organization that preserves and protects the architectural and decorative arts, landscape and social history in Newport County including the famed Newport Mansions.
The Preservation Society of Newport County is a private, non-profit organization in Newport. It is Rhode Island's largest and most visited cultural organization. The organization's mission is to preserve and protect the architectural and decorative arts, landscape and social history in Newport County including those of the Bellevue Avenue Historic District. Founded in 1945, The Preservation Society is led by CEO Trudy Coxe.
*The eleven historic properties open to the public include Arnold Burying Ground, Hunter House, Kingscote, Chateau-sur-Mer, Chepstow, Green Animals Topiary Garden, Isaac Bell House, Marble House, The Breakers, The Elms, Rosecliff and Rovensky Park.
