Rhode Island School of Design Museum of Art is a prominent art museum in Providence, founded in 1877 affiliated with Rhode Island School of Design. It is the 20th largest art museum in the U.S. In September 2008 an addition to the RISD Museum was opened to the public. The Chace Center connects the four old buildings of the RISD with a glass bridge and serves as the main entrance to the museum. It includes an auditorium, a retail shop as well as exhibition and classroom spaces.
