The Westport Historical Society was founded in 1965 and is dedicated to preserving the history of Westport and making that history known to Westport citizens.
Mission: To collect, preserve and document the material culture of Westport; and to educate and connect the residents of the area to their heritage through public programs, exhibits, publications and research.
With these goals in mind, the Historical Society offers programs of historical interest and publish a newsletter, The Harbinger, that informs membership of events and presents notes of historical interest.
