Tiverton & Little Compton, RI

Tiverton is located on the eastern shore of Narragansett Bay, across the Sakonnet River from Aquidneck Island (location of Newport). Together with the adjacent town of Little Compton, the area is disconnected from the rest of the state of Rhode Island.

Incorporated by English colonists in 1694, Tiverton, RI still maintains many historical roots today. Most notably, Tiverton Four Corners is an area that was divided into thirty lots in 1710, and Four Corners village was born. Today, Tiverton Four Corners is a unique place where visitors can visit museums, galleries, antique shops and farms that often offer one-of-a-kind items. Four Corners has all the charm of a quaint New England village.

Little Compton was incorporated in 1682 and, like Tiverton, is also rich in history. A popular summer vacation spot, Little Compton is a great place for cyclists, with lots of long, winding roads and farm stretches with interesting spots to stop and relax.
